What are the characteristics of these wall beds with wardrobes?
These models combine a vertically folding bed with integrated wardrobe-style storage columns on the sides or above. Once the bed is raised, the front blends into the unit, and you get a real everyday wardrobe. This is the solution designed for studios and guest rooms where every square foot counts.
How much space do these bed and wardrobe sets really save?
During the day, the bed completely disappears into the cabinet, freeing up all the floor space, which means an equivalent of 2 to 3 m² becomes usable. The wardrobe modules framing the bed generally offer several shelves and a hanging rail, enough to replace a classic wardrobe. This way, you fit a bed and storage space within the footprint of a single piece of furniture.
Does the wardrobe contents remain accessible when the bed is unfolded?
Yes, the side columns remain open even when the bed is lowered, as only the central panel pivots. You can access your belongings without having to fold up the bed beforehand. For storage located above the bed, it's best to reserve it for items you use less often.
Do you have to empty the bed before folding it into these units?
No, the bedding stays in place. The mattress is held by a strap, and the slatted bases move with the bed, so sheets and duvet remain in position when you raise the bed. This is what makes these units truly practical for daily use, without the chore of tidying up every time.
What mattress thickness do these wall beds accept?
The mechanism is designed for mattresses of about 25 cm, which allows for real regular sleeping comfort rather than just an extra solution. It's better to have a mattress adapted to a wall bed. Contact us for more information.
Is the mechanism easy to operate daily?
These beds are equipped with assisted gas springs or springs that compensate for the weight of the bed, so a single-hand gesture is enough to unfold or raise the unit. No particular strength is needed, even for one person. The movement remains fluid day after day, which makes all the difference when you use it every night.
Do these sets attach to the wall or are they freestanding?
Most of these models are wall-mounted to ensure stability, with the wardrobe cabinet also serving as a supporting structure. The fixing remains discreet and does not require major work on a sound partition wall. In store, we check the type of wall with you before confirming the most suitable installation.
Can these wall beds with wardrobes be adapted to a room's dimensions?
The wardrobe configurations can often be adjusted, by playing with the number of columns, their position on the left or right, or the width of the bed. Customization is worked directly with our advisors, in store or by phone, to match the wall length you have available. Assembled delivery to your home in the room of your choice once the configuration is validated.
