Designers of smart furniture, we have been writing the history of La Maison Convertible for two generations.

It was in 1980 that our family founded the first store dedicated to convertible sofas, and today we have 55 throughout France.

Our mission? To optimize your space so that you always feel good at home, without any compromise between comfort, design and functionality.

1980: our beginnings in Paris

It all started in the 19th arrondissement of Paris, where our parents opened a consignment store in 1980.

At the time, the price per m² was increasing, and a convertible sofa was generating more and more demand.

The 4 founders saw it as an opportunity and decided to launch exclusively into the sale of convertible sofas.

Very quickly the store met its customers, pushing them to open a second store opposite. In 1993, they took over a store in Gobelins as well as a network of franchisees and took the name La Maison Du Convertible, becoming the first brand in France specializing in convertible sofas.

Development

The openings followed one another: République in 1996, Wagram in 2005, Lyon, then the merchant site in 2006. Notoriety grew thanks to strong communication: metro, bus... and Valérie Damidot's D&CO broadcasts on M6.

It's bustling, people are rushing into our stores. It is also the arrival of the second generation, first as reinforcements in the stores, then in the office: in purchasing, marketing and business development.

From 2005: Diversification

The price per m² is still increasing and habits are changing, we listen to our customers and design new smart furniture to meet their needs.

After the convertible sofa, we start with retractable beds, then modular tables in 2005.

2017: design & multifunction repositioning

To face the growing competition and avoid any compromises to our customers, we choose a unique segment: designing furniture that is practical, stylish and comfortable.

In 2017, we developed our first sofa bed entirely designed with a designer: the Finn model. Goodbye to rectangular sofa beds, we now design sofa beds that are as beautiful as fixed sofas.

In 2019, we changed our name to La Maison Convertible , a name that better represents our new positioning.

Notre groupe familial a fondé sa première enseigne spécialisée dans le canapé, en 1980. Aujourd'hui, nous réunissons trois enseignes : La Maison Convertible, Le Lit et Bimodal L'armoire-lit.

Notre entreprise est encore aujourd'hui 100% familiale et gérée par la famille fondatrice.

La Maison Convertible, spécialiste du canapé convertible confortable, compte 55 points de vente partout en France. Le Lit, spécialiste de la literie haut de gamme, compte 14 points de ventes. Bimodal est un magasin situé au 68 bis Rue Réaumur, 75003 Paris, mais une sélection de lits escamotable est visible dans plusieurs magasins La Maison Convertible.
