Sofa bed

Experts in sofa beds since 1980, we are passionate about this product that changes the lives of many families and households! A designer sofa by day and a real bed by night, the sofa bed meets the very contemporary challenge of optimizing space without having to choose between style and comfort. Thanks to their patented, robust mechanisms and high-end mattresses, today’s sofa beds are true 2-in-1 allies for daily life.

Our quality sofa beds create a perfect balance between:

• Comfort: a pleasant seat by day, a quality sleeping surface by night. Exclusive mattresses as high-quality as those for real beds.
• Design: thanks to the expertise of our French and Italian designers who draw exclusive sofas for our brand.
• Practicality: easy and quick-to-use mechanisms that allow you to unfold your sofa bed effortlessly. For example, the Rapido sofa bed opens in just a few seconds!

Understanding your needs to find the ideal sofa bed

There are many models of sofa beds; benches (BZ and clic-clac) as well as so-called "Rapido" sofa beds, simple or in corner sofa versions. Once the model is chosen, you can fully customize your sofa bed (mechanism, dimensions, mattress thickness and density, upholstery, armrests, bed bases, etc.). At La Maison Convertible, there is something for every taste and every budget.

A sofa bed must match your lifestyle, your space, and your frequency of use (daily sleeping, occasional, etc.). Every person is unique, and so is every interior. This space-saving furniture can save you 15m², effectively an extra bedroom! But you have to know how to choose it well.

There are three main families of sofa beds:

• The sofa bed (convertible): for daily or occasional sleeping, it features a patented quick and easy opening system called Rapido, designed to unfold in a flash without removing the cushions. Its design is refined; it is as beautiful as a "real" sofa (the mattress is hidden under the sofa cushions). It’s actually hard to guess that it transforms into a bed!
• The BZ bench: a compact sofa that unfolds perpendicular to the wall. Ideal for small spaces, such as a student studio or a guest room. The BZs from La Maison Convertible are nonetheless perfectly suited for daily sleeping thanks to their quality mattresses.
• The clic-clac bench: like the BZ, the clic-clac is a simple and economical solution for small spaces. The difference with the BZ is that a clic-clac bench opens parallel to the wall. With their thick, high-density mattresses, our clic-clacs are also perfectly suited for daily sleeping.

How do I choose my sofa bed?

To make the right choice for your sofa bed model, it is essential to ask yourself these three questions and discuss them with our experts:

• What do you need? Daily or occasional sleeping? Is it for you, for friends, for tenants, for your child? What type of comfort and mattress style is desired?
• What is your space like? Measure your room and the space available for opening the sofa. Check access points (doors, hallways, stairs, general traffic flow).
• How much time do you have? Is your need urgent? Some of our models are ready to be delivered to you; they are available immediately. Some options, models, or fabrics require custom manufacturing, which naturally takes more time…

To help you find your way, here is a summary table of the different families:

Do not hesitate to talk with our experts in-store or by phone. They will take the time to understand your habits, your constraints, and your desires in order to guide you toward the right sofa bed.

Real mattresses for a good night's sleep

Sleep is too precious; it is central to our lives and our mental health. That is why our sofa beds offer REAL high-end mattresses that provide restorative sleep and optimized long-term use.

They are designed with complex technologies to withstand folding without deforming or damaging themselves during opening and closing. A science born from know-how that we have been developing and improving since our creation in 1980.

To ensure everyone finds what they are looking for, we have developed an exclusive range of mattresses that utilize different technologies:

Good to know: La Maison Convertible has created a brand specialized in bedding, Le Lit, which puts its know-how at the service of your comfort. This dual expertise allows us to offer sofa beds whose sleep quality rivals the best bedding.

Top-tier bed bases

The choice of bed base is just as important as the mattress. To ensure you have quality sleep, we offer several bed base options:

• The metal grid: ideal for those seeking increased firmness.
• Wooden slats: offer optimal flexibility and ventilation to the mattress; to be chosen when sleeping as a couple because the other person's movements are felt less.
• A mixed structure: for a balance between comfort and optimal support.

A passion for design and craftsmanship

While our sofa beds are comfortable and functional, we are also very proud to be able to say that they are beautiful and stylish. Every sofa offered at La Maison Convertible is an exclusive piece signed by a French or Italian designer. Romain Brals, Rémi Bouhaniche, Tommaso Oliva, Pierre-Louis Gerlier… From Paris to Milan, they all share our passion for functional design.

Samira, who has worked in different La Maison Convertible stores, loves seeing her visitors pleasantly surprised: "Some tell us they were just walking past the shop. They found our sofas pretty and stylish in the window; so they come in and look around. When they learn that all the sofas are also sofa beds, they can’t believe it!"

Customization and attention to detail

A large part of our sofa beds are highly customizable. True semi-customization. Because a sofa bed is often a central piece of our interiors, we believe it should be as unique as its owner.

After finding the sofa model that suits you, you can choose from:

• Color: over 500 colors available,
• Material: leather, velvet or linen, bouclé fabric, etc.
• Dimensions: You can choose a 120 cm sleeping surface (for small spaces or guest beds), a 140 cm sofa bed (for a good comfort/footprint compromise), or a 160 cm sofa bed (the size most popular with couples).
• Mattress: 4 exclusive mattresses that fit the majority of our sofa models.
• Bed bases: wooden slats or metal grid or mixed structure, this too depends on your needs and tastes.

Samira, manager of relations with decorators and interior architects at La Maison Convertible, is enthusiastic: "What our clients really love about us is having choice and being able to customize their sofa. The same model can be configured as a corner, two-seater, or three-seater - they are modular. By playing with colors, materials, shapes, certain details, dimensions… we can really have fun and turn them into super stylish sofas, unique pieces for every client!"

Our advisors will be there to guide you and help you customize the sofa of your dreams down to the smallest detail. They will help you choose the model most suited to your needs, from our 2-seater sofa beds, our 3-seater sofa beds, 4-seaters, or even our large 5-seater sofa beds.

Local, responsible, and sustainable manufacturing

Choosing a responsible sofa bed is also an investment: well-designed and manufactured with quality materials, it will accompany you for many years without losing its comfort or its allure.

• Solid and fluid mechanisms: ours are truly unique! No need for special strength or wasting time to transform your sofa into a bed daily: our high-end systems allow you to go from the living room to the bedroom in 5 seconds, and effortlessly.
• Local manufacturing: all our sofa models are manufactured in France and Italy, in local and family-run workshops. This proximity helps reduce the carbon footprint related to transport.
• Easily reconditionable sofas: At La Maison Convertible, everything can be transformed, repaired, changed, cleaned… This second life offered to our sofas establishes beautiful long-term relationships between our clients and us.

"It's a real pleasure to work with quality products on a daily basis," confides Franck, manager of the République store in Paris. "But despite the solidity of their structure and mechanisms, naturally, fabrics age and can also go out of fashion. It’s a shame to have to buy a new sofa when it is still in very good condition and we still like it. At La Maison Convertible, we offer to change only the mattress or the cover. That's real sofa refurbishment!"

To meet Franck, Samira, Marc, or Gilles and talk to them about your project, find your La Maison Convertible store here and don't hesitate to push open our doors, with or without an appointment, in one of our stores.
