On September 2 and 3 , don't miss the traditional Lille flea market , which attracts around 2 million visitors each year.  

This is the unmissable meeting place for bargain hunting and finding the best deals from private second-hand dealers, but also from the city's merchants.  

Since the beginnings of the flea market, in the 16th century , this gigantic open-air garage sale has delighted young and old. If, at its creation, the servants ran the stands to sell the old objects of their masters, today things have changed, and this popular meeting is an opportunity for everyone to get together and sell their non-existent goods. used  

It was in fact in the 1970s , and to fight against the consumer society , that the Lille clearance sale, in the format that we currently know, experienced its greatest growth, and this was not about to happen. stop!
